For Diamante Geração de Energia, safety is a value that must be assumed by all workers. This value is non-negotiable. Our commitment is aligned with the company’s objectives, prioritizing the well-being and physical integrity of people and equipment. Our Mission, among other principles, emphasizes respect for people, exemplifying how our Values guide our daily activities .

Since 2010, we have been a company certified to the then OHSAS 18001. As of 2021, we have been ISO 45001-certified – Management System of

Occupational Health and Safety.

Our team is currently made up of 01 Workplace Safety Coordinator and 04 Workplace Safety Technicians. In addition, we have 01 occupational doctor, 01 occupational nurse, 01 nursing technician and 02 private firefighters, the latter belonging to contracted companies.

Diamante Geração de Energia values people’s physical and mental integrity, working to prevent injuries and illnesses by raising awareness, identifying, monitoring and controlling hazards and risks in the workplace. The company seeks to continuously improve its performance in occupational health and safety in order to provide quality of life for employees and contractors.

Occupational safety programs

Several programs are adopted at Diamante Energia to achieve our OSH objectives. Among them is the Human Performance Program (PPH).

Although it is not a program exclusively focused on health and safety, it does have a positive impact in this area and consists of the use of tools developed to mitigate human error.

There are 13 tools that are used in a simple way on a daily basis by employees. Below is an example of one of these tools – Phonetic Alphabet:

Rules that Save Lives

The rules that save lives are inviolable guidelines to carry out activities at the Jorge Lacerda Thermoelectric Complex. All employees (own and contracted) must be committed to following them faithfully, thus raising the safety culture in the company.

I put on my safety belt before starting work at heights;

I make sure that there is no active mechanical, chemical or electrical energy or fluids under pressure before starting work;

Before entering a confined space, I make sure that the atmosphere has been tested and that it is monitored throughout the operation;

Before carrying out hot work, I check that there is no risk of fire or explosion;

I don’t walk or stand under suspended loads;

I don’t stand on moving vehicles or equipment;

Before entering a trench, I check that the supporting walls are in place;

I drive vehicles and equipment safely.

Frequency Rate of Occupational Injuries with Time Off Work

Total number of countable occupational injuries, with time off work, per million hours of exposure. Occupational injuries sustained by employees and third parties on long-term contracts in activities that result in time off work are considered.
